1. Why should I buy from Universe Direct?

Universe Direct is a Cape Town based operation, active in many different product areas - from the procurement, refurbishment and remarketing of Tier One Workstations, Servers and Laptops to the supply and service of Office Automation Equipment, namely Toshiba.

Since 1999 Universe Direct has specialized in lengthening the lifecycle of IT equipment. Used IT equipment is either collected or procured by Universe Direct and remarketed where possible with a brand new warranty after passing a thorough refurbishment process internally.

Universe Direct offers a range of services from on-site equipment inspection and asset registration, equipment buy-back, equipment warehousing, refurbishment and remarketing.

Our strategic positioning, with key relationships and contacts throughout Southern Africa, enables Universe Direct to provide services where they are needed the most.

2. What products does Universe Direct sell?

3. How do I buy from Universe Direct?

Placing an order with Universe Direct has never been easier. In principle you can transact an order in two ways:

Telephonic Order:

Simply telephone our Call Centre on 0861-102-149 and our Customer Service Representatives can process your order and give you the relevant reference number for tracking of your order/consignment. Details are automatically captured onto our systems so that your stock order request is processed immediately.

E-Commerce Transaction:

Alternatively you can browse this site and purchase your products online from our easy-to-use secure e-commerce shopping cart.

4. How do I pay for my goods?

Universe Direct accepts varying forms of payment:

  • E-Commerce Transaction online by using all major credit cards
  • Credit Card transaction telephonically via our Call Centre
  • Bank Transfer to our Account (please ensure that you obtain reference number when using this method of payment)
  • Bank Guaranteed Cheque

Please note that Universe Direct accepts all major credit cards - Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Diners Club. Credit Cards may NOT be used for International Orders.

6. Does Universe Direct offer finance solutions?

The answer is Yes, depending on the nature of your financial requirement Universe Direct can provide you with a financial solution that meets both your requirement and budget. We have an in-house finance department that can assist you with these requirements. Alternatively we can provide assistance in this matter.

7. How reliable is the despatch of my goods?

We are very confident of our ability to safeguard your consignments all the way to their final destination. Consignments leave our central warehouse daily to their destination. Once consignments are collected by our cargo agents you will be advised of the waybill details, courier details and contact persons so that you can track your shipment if required.

8. What is the warranty on products?

As a general rule all refurbished products sold by Universe Direct are covered under a One (1) month warranty period from date of invoice, unless otherwise stated or informed at time of sale. New products are covered under the original manufacturers warranty for a period of One (1) Year from date of invoice. In many circumstances the warranty on NEW products, namely laptops, can be extended from a period of One (1) Year to Three (3) Years at a small cost.

9. How do I claim my warranty?

All products sold by Universe Direct are sold on a Carry-In Warranty basis and must be returned to our Cape Town office at the customers expense. In the case of a manufacturers warranty still being valid, the customer may contact the manufacturer directly for assistance.

10. Can I get a repair if out of warranty?

Universe Direct carries numerous spares and accessories for the products we sell. In most situations and circumstances we will be able to assist you in the sourcing of parts and or accessories for your products at highly competitive prices.
